Say no to "Hippos". Be a Cheetah!

In the previous post I wrote about Africa and the its problems with dictators as Robert Mugabe. Kind of people "help" Africa impoverishment. As you can read in the news today, it was confirmed that he lost the election for parliament after recounting. Now let see what is going to happen in Zimbabwe.

Yesterday I watch the video of an speech made by Ghanaian economist George Ayittey, recorded in June 2007 in Arusha, Tanzania. Ayittey was appointed by Prospect Magazine as one of the 100 global public intellectuals in the world. In his speech, George Ayittey, [unleashes an almost breathtaking torrent of controlled anger toward corrupt leaders - the "Hippos" (lazy, slow, ornery, greedy) who have ruined postcolonial Africa, he says. Why, then, does he remain optimistic? Because of the young, agile "Cheetah Generation," a "new breed of Africans" taking their futures into their own hands.]

In this point of view, Mugabe is the kind of Hippo that must be combated by Cheetah Generation. Watch the professor George Ayittey TEDGlobal 2007 ("Africa: The Next Chapter").
